Jeffrey Lionel Dahmer, also known as the Milwaukee Cannibal, was an American serial killer and sex offender. He murdered 17 men and boys between 1978 and 1991, with many of his murders involving necrophilia or cannibalism.

Dahmer was born in West Allis, Wisconsin to Lionel Herbert Dahmer, who served as a drill sergeant for the U.S. Army during World War II, and Bathsheba Louella Clark. His father was absent for most of his childhood years but later remarried due to the divorce from his mother when he was ten years old. He had three half-siblings from this marriage; two were younger brothers and one sister who died at birth from a heart defect.

Early Life Of Jeffrey Dahmer:

Jeffrey Lionel Dahmer was born on May 21, 1960 in West Allis, Wisconsin. He was the son of Joyce Annette (née Flint) and Lionel Herbert Dahmer. His father went to prison for child molestation before he was born and his mother worked as a nurse at the Milwaukee County Mental Health Complex. After his father's release from prison, Jeffery began spending summers with him at the family's home in Bath Township, Ohio.

First Murder Of Jeffrey Dahmer:

In the summer of 1978, 17-year-old Jeffery Dahmer was in the U.S. Army and stationed at Fort McClellan in Alabama. He came home on leave to visit his family, who lived only a few blocks away from his old high school, Revere High School. On July 18th, 1978, he picked up hitchhiker Steven Hicks on the side of the road and invited him back to his house to drink beer and watch a movie. When Hicks refused to have sex with him, Dahmer became angry and hit him over the head with a barbell repeatedly until he died.

Jeffrey Dahmer's Later Murders

Among his later murders, he killed a 19-year-old man on the night of  May 26, 1991. He had met him at a gay bar and lured him back to his apartment for sex. As usual, he attempted to restrain the victim so that he could engage in necrophilia with the body. However, the young man was unexpectedly able to break free from Dahmer's grasp and ran down the stairs out of his apartment building.

How Jeffrey Dahmer Arrest:

Jeffrey Dahmer was arrested in 1991 and incarcerated at the Columbia Correctional Institution in Portage, Wisconsin. He was initially sentenced to 16 years but this sentence was extended to life after a 1994 court hearing. He died on November 28, 1994 of cranial injuries incurred while being attacked by a fellow inmate with whom he shared a cell.
